Microfinance

It is very difficult to find work in Jinja, Uganda. Though it is essential to have an education, our goal at Jeremiah House is to also equip them with valuable life experiences to improve their job prospects upon graduation so that they will be able to improve their community and later provide for their families.

Over the holidays some of the older boys at Jeremiah House have the opportunity to build a business plan and participate in a micro financing project should their plan meet the requirements. From there, they will receive a small loan and then will take their business and meet their objectives.

Some examples might be creating art and selling it to friends. Buying shoes at a discounted price and selling it at market prices. Others may be building custom furniture based on client requests.
